Jackie presented me with education and validation during our initial consultation which made me feel so much at peace with my birth plan. I talked to others prior to her which just left me feeling unsure and not confident. Jackie has such a calming demeanor which helped me a lot! Jackie is there for YOU. Before, during, and after. She anticipates your needs and does all of the things for you to make you feel empowered and capable. I was so proud of myself for having my son naturally!   • "We feel so blessed that we were able to have Jackie as our Doula! She worked with us in more ways than we could have ever imagined. After two previous births that did not go the way I wanted them to, Jackie was adamant on making sure that we finally had a good experience. I went in for an induction, determined to not use Pitocin or get an epidural. After my water was broken, Jackie got me up and moving. Two hours later our baby was laying on my chest. I truly believe the only reason I did not end up needing Pitocin, and that our baby was born so quick, was because Jackie got me up and moving around. There is also no possible way that I would have been able to labor without an epidural, if it wasn’t for her. She made me feel comfortable the entire time, and was my voice when I couldn’t speak up for myself. Jackie is truly a gift to the Doula world, and is an amazing person inside and out!"

  • "Jackie was and still is an amazing support person to have on your birth team. She was literally only a text or call away at any time. When I thought labor had started she was ready to meet me at the hospital, and sat through testing that determined I wasn't and got sent home. [Jackie] met me at my home less than six hours later to help me walk and relax. She was still ready to go when contractions picked up, and we headed to the hospital at 1:30am. While I was a mean laboring mom she was still there supporting and coaching. Her help through the lead-up definitely made my labor progress quickly. Jackie stayed until after skin to skin and helped me take my first shower; it was nice to have someone solely focused on me and getting myself taken care of. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who cares."

  • “We hired Jackie after talking to a few other doulas and things not working out with them for various reasons. When Jackie walked in the door my husband was very skeptical but she took time to explain things in detail to us and answered every question we had in detail. Nothing felt rushed and Jackie was very open, providing valuable information. We decided to hire her for the first time mom package which includes prenatal and postpartum visits plus the birth itself and let me tell you - our birth alone was worth all the money. Before we were able to have our last visit before birth I had to be induced at 37+1 due to high blood pressure from a migraine and my birth plan and everything I‘d hoped for went out the window. Induction started around 4pm on 2/22/23 and Jackie came to check on me that evening, even though the roads were super slick with ice and we made a plan for her to come back later once my foley would have fallen out. This happened the same evening and Jackie was back by 10:30pm. The staff let me labor on my own for a while and by midnight we were at 5cm and things were going great until they weren‘t anymore. Due to my blood pressures and baby dropping off the monitors constantly it was tough to be able to move around as much as I would have liked and we were not progressing. The plan had to be changed many times and while that was disappointing and the stalled labor for 18 hours was more than discouraging, Jackie was there to hold my hand and encourage me and together we could shift my mindset multiple times from the desperation and anger of not having things work in our favor to we‘re doing what it takes to have a healthy baby and healthy momma. We ended up being in labor for a total of 30 hours and Jackie intermittently spent 21 of these hours with us. I can‘t even begin to say how valuable she was to us and how much she supported us throughout this process and after. We received a postpartum package for momma and a basket for baby and both are currently still in use at our house. Not only that, but Jackie gave us some personal gifts too that were unique to our situation and I‘m so grateful to have had her by our side throughout the whole process. I would 12/10 recommend her to anyone looking for a doula and also those not looking, because her support was everything! My husband also found her to be very knowledgeable and helpful and did a great job of supporting me during labor and delivery. Ultimately, our baby girl was born on 2/23/23 at 10:38pm and Jackie checked in with us every day after the birth and continues to follow up with us.”

  • "I hired Jackie as my doula for my second baby, and she did not disappoint! I had my first during COVID and as a first time mom I had no idea what to expect. I felt as if I didn’t have a voice nor felt informed on what was given to me medication wise. With my second baby I really wanted a completely different experience. My goal was to have a natural birth with limited interventions as possible! So I hired Jackie to be my advocate and support through this second birth and she did just that.She was there for almost the entirety of my labor and birth of my son! Jackie was such a calming presence to have and she helped tremendously with keeping me active through my induction along with providing different positions I could push in. On top of that we shared many laughs through my labor which was so special to me and my husband! 26 hours total and it was such a long yet peaceful experience and I truly dedicate that to Jackie for helping guide my birth in that direction. I had a great group of nurses and the best doula. I highly recommend her services whether you’re a first time mom or a seasoned mama!"

  • "I hired Jackie with the intention of only doing prenatal visits because my husband and I thought we could handle my birth alone. Little did I know, Jackie's help and assistance would be the best decision I made. We ended up hiring her back in January (due in March) to be my doula. I was scheduled for an induction at my 39 week mark because my baby was measuring quite large along with having extra amniotic fluid. We went in for the induction at 8pm on a Tuesday and my water broke/hit 5cm only 4 hours in, which is when Jackie arrived at the hospital. I had the intention of no drugs/all natural and Jackie talked me through all of the contractions and helped me breathe. I made it to 8.5 cm in 13 hours with no pain medication thanks to Jackie. Eventually I caved and tried iv fentanyl, nitrous oxide, and then the epidural. Even though Jackie told me I could do it without pain meds, Jackie assured me that it was okay to change my mind when I was breaking down about going against my own birth plan. We later found out that my boy was sunny side up which made pushing a much harder task. I was pushing around 4-5 hours before I decided to get a c section because that's what was safest for my baby and myself. Unfortunately Jackie could not be there for the c section, but she assured me that everything would be okay and that i would be meeting my baby soon. My baby boy came Thursday, March 23 at a whopping 10lbs 2oz. If it wasn't for Jackie, I would not have gone through labor as well as I did. I probably would have caved to an epidural and other pain meds much sooner. I'm proud that I made it as long as I did; She helped me reach that goal. I will always highly recommend hiring Jackie to be your doula because she made a huge impact on my labor, birth story, and my postpartum."

I wanted some information about how to make childbirth a good experience. Jackie showed me the benefits of having a doula present at your birth and my husband and I decided to hire Jackie for the birth of our son. Jackie gave us so much information beforehand and helped us create our birth plan. When my water broke at 9:30pm, I felt anxious for the arrival of my son yet relaxed because I knew what to expect. Jackie was with me every step of the way, even though my labor was very long lasting 16 hours.

My son was positioned sideways which was going to make birthing him harder.  His heart rate was concerning and closely monitored and I was clearly not progressing fast. Jackie’s calm demeanor was able to keep me calm throughout all of this. She was also able to remind my emotional husband how to support me best. Jackie took notes, made sure I was hydrated and made me change positions often. Jackie coached and encouraged me during my three hours of pushing. When my son arrived, vaginally, he was taken to the NICU after being on my stomach for 5 seconds which was the most terrifying moment of my life. My husband went with our son and I would have been left with a doctor I had met one time if not for Jackie staying with me. My birth experience would have been horrible and scary without Jackie, not to mention there is a good chance I would not have been able to deliver vaginally which was important to me. Afterwards Jackie provided me with a birth book of photos she had taken which helps me look back and have positive feelings about the birth of my son. I would 100% recommend hiring Heart to Home Doula Care."
